Business competition’s final round streams on social media live from Lakeport

LAKEPORT— Nick and Mayra Lam from Lam Printing in Clearlake took the $15,000 first prize at the “Hands Up Lake County” Business Plan competition which took place Sunday at the Soper Reese Theatre and which was livestreamed on social media. The prize was presented by Alan Flora, City Manager of Clearlake and Maryann Schmid, Founder and Vice-Chair of 1Team 1Dream which created the competition. Second prize of $5,000 went to Lisa Wilson of Clear Lake Boat Rental, third prize of $3,000 went to David Brown of Susie Q. Donuts and espresso. The 4th place prize sponsored by the city of Lakeport was $1,500 and was awarded to Stacie Judson of Wild Bee Creations and in 5th place was Dottie Bates owner of True Grit Coffee House in Loch Lomond. A $2,500 prize for the Best Business in Lakeport sponsored by the Lodge at Blue Lakes went to Mark and Tammy Lipps of the Ripe Choice Farm and Catering. Prior to the events residents were able to vote for their favorite business and Susie Q came out on top earning a $250 Cash award and gift certificates for the Lodge at Blue Lakes.
