Careerline Tech Center students recognized with over $385,000 in scholarships

HOLLAND — Regional students at the Careerline Tech Centre have been awarded much more than $385,000 in post-secondary scholarships.

The CTC, operated by the Ottawa Area ISD, recently held a scholarship awards ceremony to recognize 42 college students for their scholarship earnings. In addition, 18 college students are remaining sponsored by nearby organizations to continue their instruction with an apprenticeship.

“The opportunities at Tech Centre are boundless,” CTC Director Dave Searles stated. “From scholarship monies to aid with education following higher college to apprenticeship prospects that mix education and learning with on-the-task teaching, our pupils are offered many alternatives to aid them figure out their future techniques.

“With so several avenues for a university student to just take, we are excited to aid families navigate this territory with their student and assist set them up for success.”

Involved in the scholarships was a $70,000 award to Holland Public Schools student Flor Quiñones Sanchez. Quiñones Sanchez obtained the Kendall Portfolio Scholarship and will go to Kendall Faculty for Artwork and Design. She studied printing and imaging tech at CTC.

Randal Fletcher, a student at West Ottawa, been given far more than $50,000 in scholarships. Fletcher earned the AIS Stage Scholarship for $48,000 and the Haworth Experienced Trades Scholarship for $2,000. He took section in the diesel/major gear mechanics plan at CTC.

Caleb Prince, a neighborhood homeschooled pupil in the diesel/hefty tools mechanics system, gained a $40,000 Michigan CAT Scholarship.

Scholarship resources incorporate endowed scholarship money and partnerships with neighborhood organizations and colleges. Scholarships awarded array from $300 to $70,000.
