Careerline Tech students take top three spots in statewide SkillsUSA competition

HOLLAND — Right after taking the top rated 3 places in a regional level of competition in February, a trio of Careerline Tech Center learners moved on to a statewide SkillsUSA level of competition final weekend and as soon as all over again dominated the contest.

The competitors involved college students demonstrating specialized techniques and knowledge in different locations, together with engines, drivetrain components, braking systems, electrical and extra. Pupils were being also evaluated in a mock work job interview.

As the state of Michigan winner, Brouchard is certified to advance to the Countrywide Diesel Gear Technological know-how competition in June. Last year, CTC and Zeeland West college student Adam Leeuw gained the nationwide party.

Program teacher Jason Alberda claimed he is “amazed” by the students in the Diesel Weighty Devices Mechanics program subsequent the regional competition earlier this 12 months.

“It is constantly terrific to see college students from our class be productive,” he stated. “I am constantly shocked at how sensible our college students are and how a lot they study and know for the duration of the two several years they are in this plan at the Tech Center.”
